Disney Social Media Moms Celebration 2014 #DSMMoms

The 2014 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration was so packed full of information and fun that I’m STILL recovering from it! I’ll try to tell you about it over the course of the week.

Frans, Munchkin, her friend (who will be referred to as part of my family for this trip), and I drove down to southern California a couple days before the conference started to enjoy some family time at Disneyland.

It had been a couple of years since our last visit there and Munchkin’s friend hasn’t been for years. We diligently got FastPasses and tried to ride as many of our favorites as possible. Then it was time for me to get to work.

Thursday afternoon we arrived at the Disneyland Hotel (where we would be staying the next three nights) to check in for the event. The area I need to go to was hard to miss.

While the family got some snacks, a rep sat down with me to go over the schedule. After playing with the new Disney apps and snapping some photos with Pluto, we went to the front desk to get our room info.

How cute is it that all the bathroom hardware has Mickey heads on them, as did other décor pieces throughout the room?! It was the wooden headboard that stretched across the room really set the mood for out Disney visit though:

That evening, I headed out to the blogger welcome reception. The park executives (such as Disneyland President, Michael Colglazier) welcomed the attendees, we had some appetizers, there were some prizes, and it was time to get ready for dinner.

Dinner was in Disneyland at the Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree. I got there late since I forgot my badge and had to return to the room (those elevators were so slow). My family was waiting for me at the venue entrance. The only seats left were in the secondary section so we missed much of the festivities happening in the main area. Either way, we had plenty to eat and got to mingle a bit. We also picked up some TRYit snack packs to try later on (which were both handy and tasty).

And then it was beddy-bye for us with a full day ahead on Friday.

Thanks to the day’s event sponsors for making DSMMC Day 1 possible:
