Eventi Hotel, New York

It is so much easier to have a ‘home base’ when touring downtown New York City. The Eventi Hotel in Manhattan served as just that during my recent press trip to see the Avengers at the Tribeca Film Festival. The location is central to many top sights such as the Empire State Building and Times Square is a short 15-minute walk. To save your feet the subway is nearby to bring you to other parts around town including Central Park, which is only two stops away.

$1 (or Less) Kids’ Movies at Cinemark and Regal Theatres, Summer 2012

You can take your kids to the movie theater to see a selection of G- or PG-rated films for only $1 each (if you pre-pay at Cinemark it’s half that price). I’m happy to see that there’s a pretty good selection of films this year though the theatre closest to us is not participating this time around. The day and time is different for each theater so check the listing for your local Cinemark or Regal movie theater.

Trailer for The Odd Life of Timothy Green

I LOVED “The Odd Life of Timothy Green”. If you are a parent, you will want to see this movie when it comes out 8/15!

Kids Bowl Free 2012, #Giveaway Ends 5/27

The Kids Bowl Free program is now live for the 2012 summer season. Bowling alleys across the nation (and in Canada) are offering FREE bowling for children under the age of 18. From 9am to 5pm, children will get two free games every day until September. There are no strings attached except to register for your weekly coupons but that is free as well!

Additionally, you can also purchase a family pass for as low as $24.95 (it’s $39.95 at our local place) which allows up to four adults to take advantage of the same program. We loved being able to just pop in, play a couple of games, then go home. Even if my daughter wasn’t in the mood to play one day, my husband and I sure had a great time!
