A few years ago, my family had a wonderful experience staying at the Ayres Hotel in Anaheim and the one in Fountain Valley. It’s been a while since we last needed accommodations in Southern California but, when we had a personal event to attend last month, we knew what line of hotels to check out. Only twelve minutes from our event venue, the Ayres Suites Ontario Mills Mall was extremely convenient.

Ayres Suites Ontario Mills Mall Review — Room & Stay

As usual, the staff was friendly and check-in was easy. The room was simple and clean. I loved that the sink and vanity mirror are separate from the toilet and shower area. This makes it so much easier to get ready when you have several people sharing a room. Another sink is in the bedroom area, accompanied by a microwave and mini refrigerator. This room is equipped nicely for those enjoying a longer stay.

We found the decor and furniture to be slightly outdated but it was good enough for a few nights. Our bed was a bit lumpy and was kind of wiggly. Once we got to sleep, we didn’t notice though 😛 The hotel is located on the outskirts of the mall parking lot yet we found our room to be mostly quiet during our stay.

We were delighted to find out that several local restaurants would actually deliver right to our room. Apparently the hotel had a special arrangement so this service was available at no extra charge. The 8-hour drive from Northern California (we had a to take a few bathroom breaks) had worn us out and we wanted nothing more than change into pajamas and relax the rest of the evening. Having the option for dinner to be brought to us was so nice. About 25 minutes after we placed our order, our piping hot food was brought to our hotel door. Wow, talk about easy!

Ayres Suites Ontario Mills Mall Review — Included Breakfast

Breakfast in the morning is included in the stay. Pastries, cereal, juice, coffee, and yogurt were set out. The chef serves hot eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes along with waffles or omelets made-to-order. The taste was so-so but Munchkin and I had enough to feel satisfied. While a new pan could be used to cook food for Frans (must be gluten-free), there were too many chances of cross-contamination and he opted not to eat anything from the provided food. Just in case, we had brought a loaf of gluten-free bread with us and peanut butter so Frans ended up eating that in the morning.

Ayres Suites Ontario Mills Mall is a central location. Prices are reasonable, especially if you can take advantage of special convention rates. The staff is helpful and the rooms are a good size. The style and furniture feel a bit tired but that’s part of the hotel style. Parking for guests is free. There is also a small pool but we did not have time to check that out. If you are looking for more modern lodging, you can try the Ayres Inn & Suites just next door. We had a decent stay and appreciate the hospitality of the staff.

I received a discounted rate during our stay. All opinions are my own.
