Eventi Hotel, New York

It is so much easier to have a ‘home base’ when touring downtown New York City. The Eventi Hotel in Manhattan served as just that during my recent press trip to see the Avengers at the Tribeca Film Festival. The location is central to many top sights such as the Empire State Building and Times Square is a short 15-minute walk. To save your feet the subway is nearby to bring you to other parts around town including Central Park, which is only two stops away.

Times Square & Beyond With Kids

Times Square is always bustling with tourists as they check out the bright lights, Broadway musicals, and endless shopping. If you’re traveling to the city with kids, here are a few things they’ll enjoy.

M&M’s World
Here you’ll find three levels of color and candy. There’s a ton of merchandise featuring your favorite M&M mascots. You will also find a massive collection of the candy itself in all its many varieties and colors, and then some. Just make sure not to use the bathroom here. The women’s bathroom only had two stalls and we spent longer in line for the toilet than browsing the store itself. Prices are reasonable and some items are discounted. We even got a water bottle holder for 75% off!

Wordless Wednesday – A Little Bit North (NY) #WW

We did get a chance to drive a little outside of New York City on our last visit and found this place somewhere around the towns of Pine Bush and Wallkill. It had no relevance to our trip but my husband loved the look of the old silos. Can you believe this shot was taken with my iPhone4 and is totally unedited (except for the watermark, of course)?!

Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah

Driving through Utah, one place you will not want to miss is Bryce Canyon National Park. This amazing canyon showcases numerous hoodoos, formations resulting from elemental effects on the native sandstone in the area. It’s mind-boggling to look down and see just how monstrous these upright giants are.

At 8000 to 9000 feet above sea level, you can get some breathtaking views of the striking wonders. I loved that we were able to see the dusting of snow as it contrasted perfectly the rich red tones of the sandstone. We got the best view at Agua Canyon. Plus, my daughter had fun making snowballs while we walked along the paved trails.
