How CVS ExtraCare Can Help Achieve Financial Health

For the past two months I have really been focusing on trying to take better care of myself. It’s so easy to let myself go when there’s a household to support, a family to care for, and a home business to run. However, the aftereffects of that aren’t worth it. I get easily worn down, have low self-esteem, and the damage can escalate to some not-so-nice panic attacks and emotional breakdowns. I’ve been trying to eat better, drink more water, and to build personal confidence by doing my makeup and nails more often. These really helped…at first.

It turns out that, while those bits are important, I was avoiding the root of the problem—stress. I’m working day and night these days, leaving almost no downtime to recuperate. In an effort to lighten this burden, I’ve been trying to cut down our overall costs so we can live on less and, therefore, won’t have as many expenses to pay for. Fortunately, when it comes to the hefty price of daily toiletries, pharmaceutical items, and small groceries, we have a bit of help.

Finding Financial Health with CVS ExtraCare

Health | Parenting | It’s so important that moms take out time to care for themselves. Find out how financial health plays a part and how CVS ExtraCare helps.

I have been loving the CVS ExtraCare savings and rewards program. Products I use are almost always on sale for either instant savings or to accrue ExtraBucks for later use. I’m especially keen on the coupons that arrive via email for discounts like 25% off and $6 off $30, etc. Below is just a sampling of the goodness that hit my inbox last month.

There’s an App for That + Coupons When You Need Them

The best part? No coupon clipping! Everything can be added directly to my card so price adjustments come off automatically when my card is scanned at the store. You can link your card and online account, then access it all via the free iOS or Android app.

Sometimes I’m in a pinch and need to pick up some supplies up on the fly. If I don’t have time to load any deals to my card, I can just visit the Coupon Center kiosk at any CVS store. I only have to scan my card and any applicable coupons will print right out. The lady that visited the kiosk after me hit the coupon mother load! I took this photo after the first round printed but it just kept going!

Also, make sure you add your phone number to your account. My iPhone 6 Plus is too big to put in the scanner area (I tried using all types of angles) so I have to use my phone number to pull up my information.

Finding My “Mom” Healthy with CVS

Though rearranging priorities to take time out for myself is not easy, I appreciated this #FindYourHealthy challenge from CVS. I’ve been a wife for 15 years, and a mother for 14 of those. The habit of putting their needs before my own is tough to even break a little bit. However, especially over the past couple of months, I have seen firsthand the dramatic difference it makes on our family when I’m the happy wife/mom versus the irritable, stressed out one. Yes, it’s so important for moms to take care of themselves. That way we have more love and energy to give to those care for most—our family.

Thanks to the generosity of the sponsor, enter below to win a $50 CVS gift card to jump start your positive life changes now 🙂

Losing a pound of fat requires burning 3500 calories. If I reduce my caloric intake by 175 calories a day for the next 100 days, I’ll have lost 5 pounds in the next 100 days.
