Don’t Laugh! My Talking and Singing Voice-Over of Olaf #DisneyFrozenEvent

Disney Frozen Movie Olaf the Snowman Talking / Singing Voice Over #DisneyFrozenEvent

dnote_05A couple of years ago, I saw another blogger do a voice-over from one of the Disney movies and it looked so fun. I’ve been hoping to try it myself ever since then. Well, I finally got the chance last month as I entered the recording booth to do a voice over of Olaf, the snowman, from Disney’s Frozen movie. I was so giddy that I could hardly contain myself!

Disney Frozen Movie: ‘Talking’ Voice-Over

After we got in the studio and put on the headphones, we were supposed to look at the screen ahead for our lines. Preceding each line was a 3-2-1 countdown. The hardest part was getting the tempo right to match the original speech. Oh, and we were being video-taped as well.

I thought the first one went okay so I got up some courage to sing a little. That was not a good idea . . .

It all went by super fast and I was incredibly embarrassed. At least I could share those sentiments with the other seven bloggers in my group! It’s kind of like when you all eat garlic and no one can smell each other anymore. We all did kind of bad so it was fun to laugh at ourselves and each other 🙂 Only thing is we’re supposed to share our videos all over the net. I have a new-found appreciation for voice actors . . .

Would I do it again? In a heartbeat! The recording session had to be my favorite part of the event, and that’s saying a lot since our trip was packed full of memorable things. I can’t wait to do it again!

If you got to do a voice-over, would you attempt singing a portion as well?

I was invited on an all-expense paid media trip as a guest of Disney and in honor of the FROZEN movie. All opinions are my own.
