Fellowes Powershred 73Ci Shredder Review @FellowesInc. #IDSafetySeason

This post was created in partnership with Fellowes. All opinions are my own.

Many people at this time are knee-deep in store receipts, W2 forms, and health care applications. I know our pile of paperwork just seems to keep growing. Sometimes I wish I just do a clean swoop and toss it all in the garbage. But, did you know that, according to one study, there was one incident of ID fraud every three seconds in 2012? How diligent are you at securely disposing of sensitive documents?

It may not be the most glamorous item but everyone should have a good shredder in the house. What do I mean by ‘good’? Well, we’ve tried using inexpensive, generic shredders and they are just not worth it. Either they get jammed all the time or the motor burns out. Finally, we decided that it made much  more sense to invest in a shredder that could do the job and go the distance.

For years we’ve used a Fellowes shredder for all our home and business paperwork. My husband has always been good about shredding anything with our personal information on it (sometimes a little too good). It was kind of cute to see how excited he was that we’d be receiving a Fellowes Powershred 73Ci to review.

The 73Ci is more than just a shredder, it’s a home office staple. Aside from it’s stunning good looks, this baby is packed with features both cool and functional. It even has touch screen controls! It includes:

  • 100% Jam Proof System that eliminates paper jams and powers through tough jobs
  • SafeSense® Technology which automatically stops shredding when hands touch the paper opening
  • A proprietary Energy Savings System that maximizes shredder energy savings 100% of the time – both in use and out of use
  • Heavy-duty Cross-Cut blades that destroy 12 sheets of paper into 397 particles per sheet, making it extremely difficult to reassemble

So far, we’ve been very pleased with it. A full-on review will be following shortly.

Who do you know that is in dire need of a reliable shredder?
