Frozen Inspired Nail Art Design

During the red carpet press event for Frozen, I decided to do a bit of Frozen-inspired nail art design. This ombre / gradient effect is super easy but will get a lot of compliments. The key here is layering and glitter polish with bigger chunks.

  1. Apply base coat. Let dry.
  2. Apply one coat of white or light gray polish. Let dry.
  3. Apply bluish glitter polish along tip and lightly blend downwards, a little more than half-way down the nail. Do not cover whole nail. Let dry.
  4. Repeat step 3 but only blend the first quarter or so of your nail this time. Let dry.
  5. If needed, repeat again but only slightly blend the coat. There should be an almost opaque finish at the very tip. Let dry.
  6. Apply top coat.

The ombre / gradient effect is not new but, if you are using traditional polish, the method used is a little different. Tutorials for those can be found all over the web 🙂 Here are the polishes I used:

What a fun nail design idea. My daughter loves to play around with nail ideas, as a way to try to keep her from biting nails. This would be something she would love to do.

Wow, I really love your nails. I’m sure if I did my own that they’d turn out as good as yours.

We have yet to see the movie Frozen (I know I’m late to the party) but your nails look fabulous with the perfect touch of fun!

Those are awesome! I am not sure I have a steady enough hand or the patience, but they look great!

That is really pretty! I don’t really fuss with my nails too much, because they hardly grow and break off when they get at a certain length. ~lol~

Tammy March 2, 2014 - 6:46 pm

That is such a great nail art tutorial. I don’t have the talent or patience to do my own nail art, I typically just use those nail foil sheets 😉

You KNOW I love this! So beautiful.
