For any couple to survive parenthood and not be total strangers when the kids leave home, date nights are essential. Parent date nights don’t have to formal. Just hanging at home together can do the world of good. The main thing is, obviously, spend time with each other sans kids.

An Obstacle to Parent Date Nights

So how do you get rid of the little ones for a little while? Many put off these mini-getaways because they don’t have family or trusted friends nearby to watch the children. You can use a trusted service like UrbanSitter!

Oh, my! Yes! We have been having a horrible time finding someone responsible that we like to watch the kids regularly… and I NEED a date night soon or I might explode. It is tough to find.

My husband and I need to find some reliable sitters in our area. We had one and she graduated so now we never go out!

When we first moved from Canada to the U.S. we knew no one to watch our daughter for us to go out. We ended up utilizing a drop in service where we took her to play the odd time we needed it until we met some people with teenagers – so I know how valuable a service like this is!

I remember when services like UrbanSitter and SitterCity starting popping up all over the place. My youngest had just been born and my oldest was about 2 and a half and we lived in a new city where we didn’t know a lot of people. I was tempted to use the service, but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. Now, several people I know use these kinds of places all the time and they love it.

My 4 sons are all raised-thank God-but the issues of adult children are even harder. But we do babysit for our 3 grandchildren who live nearby and the 2 who live out of state when they are here.. I became a grandmother @ age 45. I know how much the parents need assistance because I remember I was CRAZY to get out of the house and around adults.

My husband and I strive to have date night minus children at least once or twice a week, even if it means shopping without the kids or going to the gym – as long as we have that time together. 🙂

We share sitters on some local social media sites. But if we did not have those I would try this out.

It has been a few months. We have been looking for a sitter but it makes me so nervous my kiddos are 8,7,and 4. It is hard finding someone you trust, but would love a date with the hubby
