Initiating the Netflix Sneak This Summer

Woot! It’s finally summer! Munchkin’s last day of her freshman year is finally over and it’s time to play. Well, for her it is. She’s carefree for the next 2-1/2 months. I, however, still have to work. Ugh, sometimes it’s no fun adulting. When I do finally find some downtime (which is rare), I’ll hear, “Mama! Mama! Mama!” twenty times a day. So, my precious “me time” must take place on the down-low. The Netflix Sneak at times becomes necessary.

The Netflix Sneak

Apparently, I’m not the only one. Netflix created this Netflix Sneak graphic to show all the places that parents sneak in some screen time.

I take advantage of the usual spots like the bathroom, under the covers, while working, etc. But, sometimes, I will watch my shows while cooking in the kitchen. It might look like I’m patiently waiting for the food to cook but, in reality, I’m just standing there so no one bugs me. 😛 This was the only way I could enjoy my British period shows without interruption or mocking. Hey, whatever works, right?! Even then, Munchkin says she would still “catch” me sometimes.

Enjoying Voltron: Legendary Defender & Dreaming of Cupcakes

Recently, I binged on the entire Voltron: Legendary Defender. I didn’t have to sneak it this time, but it still felt so wrong enjoying all 13 episodes as much as I did. It’s oh-so-corny but the old school anime hijinks were tons of fun. Plus, I loved being able to get reacquainted with the robotic lions from my youth. Enjoy the series as much as I do? Try making these Voltron cupcakes to keep the excitement going.

New and Upcoming Shows

As for the rest of this month, I still need to watch A League of Their Own before it’s retired and replaced. Then, in July, plenty of throwback movies are coming to Netflix. I’ll be in the kitchen, bathroom, and under the covers quite a bit watching these gems:

  • Back to the Future (1985)
  • Back to the Future Part II (1989)
  • Back to the Future Part III (1990)
  • Batman: The Movie (1966)
  • Hello, Dolly! (1969)
  • Mean Girls (2004)
  • Turner and Hooch (1989)
  • Yours, Mine and Ours (2005)

As you can see, my interests vary greatly. 🙂 Of course, it’s not fair if the parents hog all the streaming devices during summer break. Here are some current and upcoming shows that the kids might like.

Where will you be doing the Netflix Sneak this summer?

I received a year subscription of Netflix and a device to stream the content as part of the Netflix Stream Team. All opinions are my own.
