Gift cards are great, most of the time. Sometimes you have various cards with miscellaneous amounts that just go to waste. Other times you have cards for $25, $50 or more to stores at which you can’t seem to find anything you want. That’s why I am so happy to have discovered Plastic Jungle.
Plastic Jungle offers a service that, as far as I know, is unique. You can cash in your gift cards or exchange them for Amazon.com credit for up to 92% of their worth. Hey, in exchange for something you can actually use, I think an 8% loss in value is pretty reasonable. Here’s how it works:
I sent off my gift cards and a week later received an email with a code for my Amazon.com credit. As for the Toys “R” Us gift card, I used the instant funding and got the payment in my Paypal account a few seconds later.
There is yet another option available. Many physical and electronic gift cards are available to purchase from popular retailers at a discounted price. With free shipping, you can save up to 30% on full-priced items from your favorite store! I’m all for discounts!
Before, some gift cards I had were just collecting dust or I would give them away. This would be the case if the gift cards were to stores that generally have higher prices and/or have a minimal selection compared to other retailers (yes, I love Amazon). Plastic Jungle now allows me to get the best use of these.
