Pets hate going to the vet. This is a statement that most pet parents would agree with. Why? Because it’s true. They know that going to the V-E-T means someone will poke, press, and pull them all over, especially where it hurts. Then, as if that wasn’t bad enough, they’ll be taken from their family only to be attacked by sharp needles and thermometer that have no business being put in uncomfortable places. After all, if you were in their shoes (if animals wore shoes, that is), is that a trip you’d look forward to?

Still, seeing the vet regularly is an essential part in keeping our fur babies healthy. Heart worm tests, immunizations, and checkups cannot be skipped just because our pets don’t like them. Sometimes they’re also sick, have had an accident, or are suffering from an allergic reaction of some kind. So what then?

VetPronto Mobile Vet Services

To make it a bit easier on both the pets and the owners, new mobile pet services are now being offered. VetPronto.com is comprised of a talented team of licensed veterinarians who bring the appointments to you. That’s right, they come to your home and perform basic veterinary services right there. If your pet has to endure this perceived torture, how much better would it be for them to be among their family, in the place they feel most at ease, and in arm’s reach of all their favorite treats?!

Appointments can be booked over the phone or online via their web site or VetPronto mobile app. Medical records will be obtained and you’ll get an estimate cost up front. Nice, right? No more dread as you approach the front desk at your vet with no clue how much money you’ll be parted with this time. You’ll get an email with a summary of the visit and can message the vet directly with any further questions or concerns. This is kind of the same thing that we do with our health provider. The email communication makes it so easy.

What about all the equipment needed for services. VetPronto’s veterinarians bring everything they need with them and perform services right there in your home. This includes blood work and vaccinations. Plus, your other pets can be tended to as well for only $50 more! VetPronto also offers vet tech house calls (for nail trimming, tooth brushing, etc.), veterinary acupuncture, and end of life care (a sad necessity at times).

At this time, VetPronto’s service area only includes San Francisco. I really hope they expand because, even though I love the vet we bring Speckles to, my nerves and our wallet could use a change of pace. You can learn more about these fantastic mobile vet services at VetPronto.com and make sure to follow them on Facebook and on Twitter for helpful pet care tips. Book and appointment today!

Yes! This is such a fabulous idea. I have the hardest time getting the dogs in the car. It’s like they can sense we aren’t going to the park.

I love how they come to your house. As a mom with little ones and a busy work schedule it would make my life easier too!

I would love this since we’re in and out of the vets all the time with the dogs.

Well we don’t have any pets…BUT the odd time I’ve cared for others’ pets, this would be FANTASTIC! Nothing like pet sitting and trying to get a cat or dog into a crate when they don’t feel good to transport them to the Vets..this sounds like a great solution for so many reasons.

Love this, our dog got into some candy this week and got sick. This would’ve been perfect.
