Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph and Paperman on Blu-Ray, 3D, DVD, Digital Combo Pack – To Be Released on the Date of March 5th…

Wreck-It Ralph DVD Blu-RayWaaaaaahhhh! Wreck-It Ralph is coming to Blu-Ray 3D, Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital Copy on March 5th! If you’ve read my review of the movie, you’d know that I absolutely loved the movie and was anxious to see it again. As soon as I received our copy for review, even my daughter was begging to watch it ASAP.

After waiting one whole day, we were able to pop it in. Ah, such old-school gaming goodness… Plus, the scene with Fix It Felix Jr., the Sergeant, and the Laffy Taffy cracks us up! Being able to go back to scenes and pause it was fantastic as there are tons of little details to discover. Did you see the 3D CGI princesses Belle and Cinderella chatting it up with Prince Charming in Game Central? By the way, I’m warning you right now that you WILL be singing non-sensical, made-up Japanese lyrics to the Sugar Rush theme song during the credits…

It was also great to be able to see Paperman again. No wonder it won Best Animated Short! The first time I saw it, I was just reminded of a commercial by Zoosk, the online dating site. After a couple more fews, I really came to appreciate the simple sweetness it portrayed.

The DVD doesn’t really have any extras on it except for Paperman. However, bonus material on the Blu-Ray disc includes:

  • Bit by Bit: Creating the Worlds of “Wreck-It Ralph” – Fans of the film will get a look at five new worlds created for “Wreck-It Ralph.” The short takes viewers into Game Central Station with the artists who brought Sugar Rush, Hero’s Duty and Fix It Felix Jr. to life.
  • Alternate & Deleted Scenes – Four separate scenes are highlighted with an introduction and optional audio commentary from director Rich Moore.
  • Video Game Commercials Viewers can check out the commercials created for the video games featured in the film – Fix It Felix Jr., Sugar Rush, Hero’s Duty and Fix It Felix Hammer.
  • “Paperman” – This animated short film played in theaters before “Wreck It Ralph.” It tells the story of a young man in an office who sees the girl of his dreams in a skyscraper window across the street. But how can he get her attention?

I’m so glad I was sent this clip, especially since it wasn’t included on the DVD version. *sniff* We soooo need a Blu-ray player!
