Bissell Spotbot Pet

by TerriAnn

When we went to pick up our puppy from the family that fostered her, we were given a tidbit of advice that we should have given more attention. The family highly recommended buying a BISSELL Spotbot Pet
as they used theirs constantly and it was a lifesaver for their carpet with eight puppies. We were only getting one so we would be fine, right? Wrong.

In the beginning it wasn’t too bad since we mainly kept our puppy, Speckles, in the kitchen and the living room which both had uncarpeted floors. Only later, by means of a few ‘accidents’, did we find out how much we needed some kind of spot-specific steam cleaner. After much research, we finally bit the bullet and bought a Bissell Spotbot Pet.

Step 1: Fill the cleaning tank with water and cleaning formula.

Step 2: Push button for ‘surface stain’ or ‘set-in stain’. Let the machine run 3-6 minutes.

Step 3: Press ‘stop’ and allow to air dry. Empty and rinse out tanks for next use.

While the spot steamer was not cheap it was, and still is, worth every penny. We’ve used it several times and it is just so stinkin’ easy to take out, fill, and set on automatic remover. Yes, it’s automatic. You just place the brush area over the spot and hit the ‘surface stain’ button. Three minutes later the Spotbot is done and the soiled area is clean. If it’s something a bit more set in, there’s another option which runs six minutes instead of three. This worked perfectly on a stain we found when we were moving that had probably been there for years – and out it came!

It would be wise to note that, for some strange reason, the steamer tends to leak water after you have used and emptied it. So, you may want to store it somewhere that will not suffer water damage just in case. Also, as this is only a spot cleaner, there may be a contrast in color if the surrounding carpet is not as clean as the area you used the steamer on. For upholstered textiles or in the car, you can use the included hose but we have not had the need to test that yet.

So, if you have pets (or kids, for which we have used it as well) make sure you have one of these little babies on hand!

I’ve heard good things about the spotbot. I really need to look into one of these.

Oh, it’s fantastic. We had a friend over with their dog, that just decided she like peeing on our carpet…which in throughout in our new place! We use this thing all the time and the best part? No left over smell!

We used ours until it died on us! Granted that was after six years of use and 9 dogs! 😉 We just bought the Bissell Steam Vac and LOVE it. Not necessary for one puppy but for one tween plus her friends plus three dogs and a cat…. it’s a carpet saver!! Glad you love your new SpotBot!

Well, we’re so thankful to you for even mentioning it. The investment was a tough on for us to justify at first but now we can’t live without it! I’ll keep the Steam Vac in mind too. Now that we live a place that is 90% carpet we may just need it at one point. One friend says she gets her carpets cleaned professionally every 6-12 months so we may do that as well. BTW, love the pic of Raz sleeping with his legs completely up in the air – just like his little sis!

We just bought a Bissell Carpet Cleaner, and although it has some things we don’t like, it works GREAT!

I agree that they are not FIVE stars but at least it gets out the nasty stench of poo, pee, and vomit – that in itself makes it worth it 😉

We have something similar to this and it has been so useful for spot cleaning the couches since we got our new dog.
