Bread Kittens for iOS – iPhone, iPad, iPod…
A bad batch of cat food has made the local cat population go nuts. It’s your job to tame the feral cats by battling them, defeating them, and capturing them. You do that by…throwing bread at them. Yes, this is a quirky little game with beautiful graphics and a lot of cats wearing different varieties of bread on their heads. This is one of the best iPhone / iOS games I’ve played in a while.
Each type of bread has a different effect on the cats. Some increase attack power, some increase health, and yet others up the chance percentage of a successful capture. I’m personally favoring the Pumpernickel Bread and Toaster Pastry. My daughter has been using the Crepes. Cats range from common to unique, making some more powerful and harder to ‘bread’.
After capturing a cat, you can use it to fight the feral cats. It enters your Kitten Dojo and you are able to rename it. You can select up to three at a time and are able to rotate them any time during a battle. Cats will regain full strength after a certain number of minutes/hours. The cats’ attack, health, and speed increase as you win rounds and their playing level goes up. Collect flour to buy recipes and bake bread. Collect food to recharge your cats’ strength during fights. Spin Siamese slots to win more supplies (you get a free spin every 9 hours). Meowbux can be collected to hurry baking or buy cats too hard to capture.
The strength of attack is based on the moving bar at the bottom. A pointer goes back and forth across the bar which is sectioned into gold, silver, and bronze section. Gold is obviously the target and that will cause more damage (the health bar just does down). This becomes tricky as, for some cats, the pointer moves REALLY fast.
Even though I say when I say ‘attack’, ‘battle’, or ‘fight’, it’s in the most unrealistic sense possible. A static cat just bumps the other and their health meter goes down. When their health reaches zero, they peacefully go away (disappear). The most violent part is when bright lights are tossed across or one cat does a somersault. All this is done without any face or position changes on the cat, making it pretty silly and innocent.
Bread Kittens is a hilarious little iOS game app and one that’s often running on my iPhone. It’s free and fun for those of all ages. Plus, it’s just fun watching cats with bread on their heads.
