The sounds of birds, laughter, music, etc. are things many of us take for granted. I was shocked to find out that, around the world, about 665,000 babies are born with hearing loss. Can you imagine losing the ability to hear or never getting the chance to hear at all? The ability to hear plays a major role a child’s emotional and social development so it’s not a matter to take lightly. In fact, the earlier it’s detected and managed the better! Next week, I’ll be co-hosting a very special chat that you won’t want to miss!
Together with The Motherhood and my fellow co-hosts, we’re teaming up with Hear the World Foundation to spread awareness of how to detect, treat and prevent hearing loss in young children. Get facts, ask questions, and get the chance to win prizes while doing so. This subject was especially interesting to me as we once worried the my daughter might have had hearing issues as a toddler. Fortunately, this wasn’t the case. We do, however, know others who weren’t as fortunate and whose hearing loss had detrimental effects on their development and overall childhood.
