On the last day of D23 Expo 2015, we attended the Disney Interactive Panel. Gamers in attendance (including me) anxiously waited for any exclusive news about Kingdom Hearts III, Star Wars-related games, and Disney Infinity 3.0. Well, there were tons of juicy announcements made. So many, in fact, that my head has been spinning for days just trying to figure out how to tell you all about it!
Disney Interactive Announcements at D23 Expo 2015
To keep it short and sweet, here are the main highlights from the event.
- Disney Magic Kingdoms
A new mobile game, developed with Gameloft, is coming for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Android, and Windows Phone. Players can build their very own Disney theme park with iconic attractions and interact with their favorite heroes and villains.
- Kingdom Hearts III
Big Hero 6 will be added to the upcoming game and will continue the story where the movie left off, including what happened to the original Baymax left in the portal.
Same information as presented in our group’s dedicated presentation but without the live demo.
- Star Wars Battlefront
The video game from Electronic Arts will be titled Star Wars Battlefront: Battle of Jakku. A special arrangement has been made with Playstation to offer this game in a bundle featuring a Darth Vader PS4 console. A second option includes the Disney 3.0. Star Wars starter game. Darth Vader-inspired bundles will be available November 17, 2015.
- Star Wars Battle Pod
New arcade experience with surround sound and wrap-around screen can be purchased for home use.
- Disney Infinity 3.0
Characters joining the line up of figures will be Fin and Rey from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps from Zootopia, Hulkbuster and Ultron from Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Spot from The Good Dinosaur. Limited edition set of Light FX Star Wars™ character figures will light up when placed on the Disney Infinity Base. Marvel Battlegrounds Play Set and Peter Pan theme were announced too. Attendees received an exclusive power disc for the King Mickey costume.
