I’ve never really given much consideration as to what movie theater we go to. As long as it’s nearby and has the movie we want to see at the time we can see it at, we’re good. Well, after visiting the Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime in Newark, CA yesterday to see Zootopia again, I realize that I’ve been doing the whole movie-watching thing wrong all of these years!
Visiting the New Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime in Newark, CA
About a month ago, a Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime theater opened up at Newpark Mall in Newark, CA. This is no ordinary theater. This particular room has reclining seats with haptic feedback and features surround sound in Dolby Atmos. The audio was crystal clear without being too loud. It really added to the experience since we could easily hear all of the dialogue without wincing from static during the action scenes. Plus, the screen was huge! My family loved it!
On top of that, the seats would vibrate in relation to what was happening on the screen. When something crashed or a heavy animal stomped, I could feel the chair shake. I really felt like part of the film. The first time it happened, I turned to look at the surprise on my daughter’s face. It was priceless. Each person could adjust their seat position using the electronic control on the armrest. I loved that I could recline back as far as I wanted without being worried that I was squishing the person behind me. There’s TON of legroom!
The More the Merrier
Of course, what made our visit even more special included the people we were with. Three other bloggers and I were able to giveaway some tickets to this showing and it was so nice seeing the happy faces of our winners 🙂 Since we all had reserved seats, there was no stress in figuring out where to sit!
Zootopia was a fantastic first movie to see in our local Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime theater. There’s tons of action and the film is just so much fun! Fortunately, Zootopia will be playing at Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime theaters across the country for the rest of the week. Make sure you get tickets for your whole family at one of the the following theaters. You won’t be disappointed!
