Frito-Lay Fan Swag #samples

by TerriAnn

Some of my favorite chips are Doritos, Sun Chips, and Tostitos. Little did I know that all of those are made by Frito-Lay. So, I signed up to be a Frito-Lay Fan. Are there any perks of being a fan? Well, look what they sent me the other day-Sample Swag!

There were also some interesting facts included. Here are a few that caught my eye:

  • Frito-Lay starts with fresh, farm-grown ingredients, making many of our chips with just three simple ingredients: potatoes or corn, all-natural oils and salt.
  • They were the first major food company to remove partially hydrogenated oils from our cooking oil way back in 2003. That means their chips have 0 grams trans fat because we use all-natural oils such as corn oil and sunflower oil.
  • Many varieties of our chips provide whole grains like Tostitos® snacks, which contain 8 grams of whole grain corn per serving, and SunChips®, which brings 18 grams of whole grain per serving to your diet! SunChips® are also a good source of fiber.

My family actually prefers the Lightly Salted line of chips (one bag was included) over the regular Lay’s or Ruffles. They taste better and have 50% less sodium. Score!

To get the latest, you can read the Snack Blog or become a Frito-Lay Fan yourself!

Disclosure: I was provided with the above mentioned product(s) at no charge to facilitate this review, which contains 100% my honest opinion.

I was really impressed when I read that they sorta paved the way with taking out the partially hydrogenated oils. Awesome!

When I went to visit their plant in Modesto, CA I was surprised how ‘green’ they try to be and trying to make the rest of their products all-natural.
