“Huh?” Yes, that’s pretty much the reaction of local friends and my side of the family too.
In the Dutch culture, the 12-1/2 year wedding anniversary is a huge deal. While some might mark their tenth anniversary as an important milestone here, it’s the 12-1/2 anniversary (half of 25) that brings on the congratulations and celebration back in the Netherlands aka Holland. Don’t believe me? Check out the PRE-PRINTED card my parents-in-law sent us:
So happy anniversary to my husband of 12-1/2 years 🙂 Aren’t international customs fun?
That is kinda cool!!!!! Happy 12 1/2!
Hehe – thanks!
Wow, I had no idea that 12 1/2 years is a big deal. I love learning new things. Happy 12 1/2 th!
Well, it is there. My hub’s family sent us a fantastic care package of Dutch yummies too 🙂
Oh my, I can’t wait for my 12 1/2 anniversary! Finally have another reason to celebrate something! Haha thanks for sharing.
Ooh, you’ll have to let me know when it rolls around so I can congratulate you!
Happy Anniversary!!! Congrats!
Thanks so much!
Happy Anniversary.. this is new to me.. didn’t know it was an important milestone
Me neither…until I met my husband 😛
Thanks – I feel like I’m cheating on my 13th anniversary congrats 😉
Love it, here’s to 12 1/2 more (and then some)! 😉
Thank you! We plan on it!
We have that in DK too, I remember having a party for my parents’ 12 1/2. Congratulations!
No way, really? When Frans ‘googled’ 12-1/2 it only brought up Dutch pages/references. Did you celebrate yours? BTW, thanks 🙂
We call it the Copper Anniversary in Denmark. We didn’t celebrate it over here, but I did remember when it was.
So funny! They call it ‘copper’ over there too. So many similarities – no wonder everyone gets the two countries mixed up 😛
I learned something new today :). Happy 12.5th anniversary.
Thank you! Cool how customs are different, right?
I learned something new today! Totally cool. Happy belated 12 1/2!
