Black tail mule deer in Yosemite

Black-Tailed Deer (aka Mule Deer) in Yosemite Valley are VERY friendly. We spotted a little family strolling around Bridalveil Falls. Isn’t this fawn cute?

In case you were wondering, we were NOT feeding the deer (which is illegal). This one was just extremely social and liked going around to lick people’s hands.

Soon after we left the park, we found this buck taking it easy on the side of the road. At least he was until we got out and started taking a bazillion photos of him.

Those photos are AMAZING!!! I see deer when I walk in the mornings, but they are NOT social and run as soon as they hear you coming.

That’s a really friendly deer. It would certainly freak me up if a deer really came up so close.

That’s amazing that they let you get that close to them.

We got our first buck picture a couple of summers ago, but our buck was no where near as chill as yours was w/people in the vicinity. 🙂 Great group of pictures!

The deer that come across our yard are so skittery they jump and run if they hear you inside the house moving. It’s amazing you got his close! And a buck!! I’ve only seen one ever in real life. That’s really neat.

Really…did I really reply to something I replied to on Dec. 19th, and the whole time I was typing I was thinking, “I’ve seen these…’ and then I scrolled up, after I typed my response. lol

Just never mind me, i’m up at 2 it he morning instead of 3 (couldn’t sleep) and my mind must not be functioning right. 😀

Yeah, these were pretty tame and the setting/lighting made it even more picturesque.
