Paperblanks Journals

by TerriAnn

These days I do most of my communication using a keyboard either on my computer or my phone. Still, there are times I like to use good old pen and paper. I was very impressed with the selection of stationary at Paperblanks. So much so that I had a horrible time trying to decide which ones to order. I ended up getting Blush Pink from the Silver Filigree Collection, Honey Bloom of Brocaded Paper, and Tiger Lily by Mucha. Aren’t they beautiful?!

When I was perusing the site, I couldn’t seem to figure out what the journal covers were made of based on the online images alone. The art was so detailed that some appeared to really have leather, metal, fabric, and extravagant bindings. It had none of these but was actually  binder boards meticulously embossed with metallic and textured foil.

The Blush Pink journal included a metal clasp and detailed edging. This was my favorite among the three as it’s so unique and classy. The Honey Bloom journal featured gorgeous gold flowers and had an internal magnetic closure that closed easily but securely. It’s so nice not having to worry about an external magnet piece falling off or breaking. Both of these were 5′ x 7′ – the ‘midi’ size. This was just perfect for day-to-day note-taking.

The ‘mini’ is much smaller and compact, just right to carry with you at all times. The elastic strap prevents any damage that can be incurred from digging around your purse and a small pocket in the back holds any mementos you happen to find.

All three journals include a ribbon bookmark to keep your place. The paper is thick enough so that you can comfortably write on both sides without the ink showing through. The acid-free lined sheets provide a smooth writing surface and just feel plain good to write on.

Here’s a bit more about the company:

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Paperblanks, whose journals provide a beautiful, unique and very personal place for self-expression. Inspired by the works of visionaries, rebels and artists across the ages, Paperblanks products embody a true story behind every design. With most designs taking years to license and develop, each draws a connection to global art and culture that users can see and feel in each and every book. Plus, every journal features old-world craftsmanship and the finest materials. A variety of formats from grande to pocket-size and over 300 designs are available.

The journals come in many sizes and designs, as do the available dayplanners and address books. The line can be found at many stationery shops, bookstores, and museums across North America. As the items are really fine quality, they’d make a great gift or a special keepsake.

You’re welcome. They really are much nicer than the normal journals you find in stores though they are almost too pretty. It pained me to have to write in it to review the paper quality 😛

I went and looked at the link, and I was hoping you could help me out- is the Blush Pink notebook the 10 year journal? Did it come in any other form (without the small date boxes)? How much was it?
Thank you!
