Bedroom Ideas & Fashion Decor During Macy’s Event w/ Camila Alves & Vern Yip . . .

Fashion, the bedroom, Camila Alves, Vern Yip – what do these four have in common? The public Macy’s event I attended last week!

The new fashion-inspired INC International Concepts Bedding collections at Macy’s are beautiful, no matter what your taste (quite literally as well since similarly-themed treats were served). Feminine and tasteful, but just ambiguous enough to be tolerated by your male counterpart and seen as classy design.

I was actually drawn to the ‘Bloom’ line though the oversized rose-tinted flowers are soooooo not me. Something about it just screams stylish and chic for my decor-challenged bedroom.

That and the fact that Vern Yip puts his seal of approval on it and the rest of the collection. After all, he was/is my favorite Trading Spaces designer and I wasn’t afraid to let him know it after the Q & A (cue inner fangirl ‘squeee’).

Camila Alves made a great point that there are two things you should spend money on – your intimates and your bedding – as those are what you’ll spend most of your time in. She was very down to earth and seemed genuine in her appreciation for the collection.

It was a bit hard to concentrate on what she said, though, when the mother of three sat on stage looking as she did. I know she worked hard during the seven months after her baby was born but, man, it’s just wrong to look like that and have had three humans pop out of you!

No, really, I very much enjoyed her personal expressions and felt she was the perfect celebrity to choose for introducing the new line. I’m especially convinced of this because of what happened after the event. A friend of mine saw the photos I had been posting and texted on to me in return. Turns out that they saw Camila at the Exploratorium later that day with her family, complete with her baby strapped on her chest – so cute! (Oh, you know you would have taken a secret photo in that situation as well…)

The whole event went by fairly quickly but Camila stayed afterwards for some autographs, photos, and even hugs. Vern had a plane to catch but I was fortunate enough to get a quick picture with both him and Camila before he left.

The INC International Concepts Bedding collections will be a great offering to peruse at Macy’s. Changing the bedding is a fantastic way to give your bedroom a whole new look without breaking the bank, with comforters and duvet covers in the $100-$200 range. There are a ton of decorative pillows to mix and match and the modal-fabric sheets suggest amazing softness and wrinkle-fighting capabilities. Ready to give your bed a runway-worthy makeover?

I was compensated by Everywhere for my attendance and coverage of the event. All opinions are 100% my own.

I can’t believe you met Vern Yip. He too is one of my favorite designers on trading spaces. Glad you got a pic. with him. Nice write up. Makes sense to spend money on your bedding since it reflects the designer person you are inside. Plus you do have to look at the everyday.

I was fortunate to have been first in line to meet them (the people in front of me decided not to do it). Right after our picture, Vern left. I was surprised at how nice the sets looked and never really related it to a personal design style!
