After a long hiatus from public television, the Muppets are back! This time, though, audiences will be treated to something completely new – the Muppets’ private lives. The Muppets is for adult fans of the show who want the grittier side of their favorite characters.
About The Muppets Prime Time Television Show
As the gang gets together to shoot the late night talk show with Miss Piggy, the cameras continue rolling off-screen. You’ll get to see the tense drama of Kermit and Miss Piggy after their messy break-up as well as Fozzie’s venture into the dating world. Gonzo, Animal, Swedish Chef, Beaker, and the rest will be getting unedited and raw screen time as well. No Muppets show would be complete without cameos. However, celebrities will now be part of the documentary-style craziness behind the scenes.
Magic Behind The Muppets at D23
Back at D23, I was able to hear about the show straight from the stars/creators themselves during the “Magic Behind The Muppets” media panel. It was clear that these men love what they do and are over the moon about getting together again to to film this new series. They even mentioned how they really make the show for themselves and hope the audience enjoys it 🙂 I’m sure many will!
The Muppeteers also demonstrated the basics of their craft, inviting a few audience members to try their “hand” at bringing characters to life in front of the camera.
The Muppets Premiers TONIGHT!
The new series The Muppets premieres tonight (Tuesday, 9/22) at 8/7c on ABC. Don’t miss it!
Miss Piggy is furious that Kermit booked Elizabeth Banks as a guest on her late night talk show Up Late with Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear meets his girlfriend’s parents, and Grammy Award-winning rock band Imagine Dragons performs their new single “Roots”.
