TYLT Energi Sliding Power Case & 5K+ Portable Battery Pack

Gah! Wires! I don’t mind them so much at home but they are a serious pain when traveling or just out doing errands. They get tangled with everything and I can never seem to find them when needed most, like when my phone battery is at 1% and I need to connect to my portable charger ASAP – oops! Thanks to some not-so-nice firsthand experiences, I am very keen on portable chargers right now that do not require carrying extra chargers. Do such products exist?

I’ve had the opportunity to try out two items from TYLT that fit the above description. One is a phone case for my iPhone 6 Plus with a battery that slides on and the other is a standalone charger that has both a lightening cable and a micro-USB cable tucked into it. Both offer about a 3/4 charge for my phone and keep me running until I can get home for a full recharge.

The TYLT Energi Sliding Power Case is ideal as an everyday battery backup. It comes with two pieces and has up to 3,500 mAh capacity. One is a slim yet protective case. In matte black, this case is no frills but looks nice and sleek. The other piece is the portable battery that easily slides into place.

Though the battery portion does add some extra bulk, it’s minimal and gives the phone a healthy charge. You might not be able to plug your headphones in with the battery on though. The TYLT Energi 5K+ Portable Battery Pack will be your best friend, providing 5,200 mAh of charge and able to feed power to up to three devices at the same time. A lightening tip can be found on one end while a micro-USB is on the other. For the third connection, someone will have to use their own cord to plug into the USB port.
