#WW – When Life Gives You Lemons…

Eat them! We just tried the ones from our dwarf Meyer Lemon tree – juicy and a tad sweet. When repotting, use cactus soil for good drainage and vitamins (thanks OSH lady).

Yes – they are such a vibrant, beautiful yellow! Plus, the green leaves are a perfect contrast!

So pretty! I bet they make awesome lemonade.

I’ll have to do that next. We only have about six so I’m trying not to take them all off at once 😛

Cookies & Clogs March 7, 2012 - 8:53 pm

So far we’ve only eaten a few of them straight – so nice with a dash of salt!

Maryann March 7, 2012 - 9:37 am

I wish we could grow lemons here. I use them all the time.

Cookies & Clogs March 7, 2012 - 8:54 pm

Well, we had a weird winter and these grew from basically October – February!

Candace March 7, 2012 - 10:18 am

I cannot wait to order my tree!! I will be ordering other plants too but I am excited about the lemons!

Cookies & Clogs March 7, 2012 - 8:54 pm

Oh and this tree has been SOOOO easy to maintain. In fact, I’ve actually been neglecting it and need to get some fertilizer 😛

Misadventurous Mommy March 7, 2012 - 10:46 am

Jealous…great shot!

Cookies & Clogs March 7, 2012 - 8:55 pm

When my tree grows a bit more, I’ll have to send you some 🙂

Henrietta March 7, 2012 - 10:54 am

Wow, they are just beautiful! I need to get one of these trees!

Cookies & Clogs March 7, 2012 - 8:55 pm

Don’t forget to get the Meyer Lemon – sweeter and juicier 🙂

Melinda@LookWhatMomFoundandDadtoo! March 7, 2012 - 11:49 am

I would love to have a fruit bearing tree, what a great picture

Cookies & Clogs March 7, 2012 - 8:56 pm

This was surprisingly easy. Before we moved, I was even going to just leave it but my mom said “No Way!” and dug it up for me. I’m so glad she did 🙂

Mariah March 7, 2012 - 11:50 am

I wish I had a green thumb because these look great!

Cookies & Clogs March 7, 2012 - 8:56 pm

Oh, these poor things have been totally neglected with only an occasional water. They are really hearty!

Danielle @ Royalegacy March 7, 2012 - 12:50 pm

Looking good! Our Meyer Lemon is full of blossoms this year. We are hoping for a good crop.

Cookies & Clogs March 7, 2012 - 8:57 pm

Exciting! We only have about three lemons left on this so I hope more blossoms will be coming!

Melissa Rheinlander March 7, 2012 - 1:03 pm

They look great 🙂

Cookies & Clogs March 7, 2012 - 8:58 pm

Thank you! We only have a few so I had to document it before we ate them all 😛

Carolyn G March 7, 2012 - 4:26 pm

Awesome! Love Meyer lemons!

Cookies & Clogs March 7, 2012 - 8:58 pm

Now I do too! No wonder people rave about them!

melissa March 7, 2012 - 7:07 pm

What awesome lemons!

Cookies & Clogs March 7, 2012 - 8:59 pm

Thanks! Even though they are really that vivid, the sunlight was hitting them just right to accentuate the colors!

Amy March 7, 2012 - 8:02 pm

Those are beautiful. Yummy!!

Cookies & Clogs March 7, 2012 - 8:59 pm

Oh, yes, quite yummy 🙂

Cat Davis March 7, 2012 - 9:00 pm

Ohhhh I love it. I’ve always wanted to grow one but I’m not sure I can up here in the north.

Cookies & Clogs March 7, 2012 - 9:01 pm

Well, these grew during our crazy winter so they may just make it.

Anne March 8, 2012 - 5:32 am

Very cool, I have never tried to grow lemons.

Cookies & Clogs March 8, 2012 - 7:46 am

These were surprisingly easy, especially since there were already several blossoms on the tree when we bought it.

Brian March 8, 2012 - 6:57 am

How great to have fresh lemons!

Cookies & Clogs March 8, 2012 - 7:45 am

We love it. We only wish we had more as the tree only bore about 7-8 lemons so far.

Billie March 8, 2012 - 11:00 am

Those look delicious. I wish I had fresh lemons. I want to learn how to garden and a tree would be gorgeous in my yard.

Cookies & Clogs March 13, 2012 - 8:31 am

This tree is soooo easy to care for. Maybe it’s a good place to start 🙂

Tiff @ Babes and Kids March 8, 2012 - 9:17 pm

YUM. I want to squeeze one of those into a diet coke…mmmm.

Cookies & Clogs March 13, 2012 - 8:32 am

Oh? I never tried that. Is it good? Does it work with non=diet coke?

Shell Fruscione March 8, 2012 - 11:06 pm

Yum! I love lemons- I bet fresh ones like those are so much better even!

Cookies & Clogs March 13, 2012 - 8:33 am

Totally! They are so juicy and are just bursting with flavor!

Brandy March 9, 2012 - 3:33 pm

Such a beautiful vibrant photo!

Cookies & Clogs March 13, 2012 - 8:33 am

Are the colors great? The sun was hitting it just right 🙂

Andrea March 9, 2012 - 5:41 pm

Great shot! I want one of those trees. 🙂

Cookies & Clogs March 13, 2012 - 8:34 am

We bought ours at OSH when it was on sale for about $30 or so. I can’t wait to see how it fares during spring!

Whitney at It's Gravy, Baby! March 12, 2012 - 2:01 pm

Beautiful photo! My hubby makes the best fresh squeezed lemonade… I’m actually drinking it now.

Cookies & Clogs March 13, 2012 - 8:35 am

I need his recipe! For some reason, I always fail at homemade lemonade…
