Fortunately companies such as Danko exist. Their stapled clog has come to be known as a comfortable yet stylish shoe for the working woman.

For this spring, Dansko is releasing a new line. The Sanibel collection is part clog, part sneaker but all Dansko. The two styles (Volley and Veda) come in a variety of fabrics and patterns.

Now I have heard of Dansko but could never get myself to dish out the money to get some. My husband and mom say that my feet always hurt because I buy cheap shoes. Anyway, I was very excited to finally try a pair of quality shoes and this particular line retails for less than $100.

For this review, I decided to really put them to the test to see if they are as comfy as people say. On the first day I broke out my Veda Sand shoes, I had a full day of walking ahead. Now everyone knows you need to break your shoes in before wearing them all day but I had high expectations of my new Dansko shoes.

After grabbing a bite to eat, we drove to San Francisco. We had tickets for the Conservatory of Flowers. For about two hours we walked in, out, and around the conservatory. With half a day still left, we drove down to San Jose to check out the Bay Area Pet Expo. For the next couple of hours we perused the booths, got some samples, and watched some dogs compete to see who could jump furthest in the pool.

We finally got home and were completely exhausted. My feet? Well I will tell you I was glad to kick them off when I arrived home BUT they were fine! No sore spots, no blisters, nothing. The only thing my little toes-ies needed was a well-deserved stretch. My Dansko Sanibel Vedas passed the test with flying colors. They are so comfortable!

The style did take some getting used to. When I was wearing them the other day, a woman asked me what brand they were. She said, “They’re part clog and part sneaker. I’m so confused.” Funny that she came to that on her own. After putting them on though, I like how they look. Plus, the new design is so versatile for the approaching season. With some cute capris, a brightly-colored cami, and a flowing light top, my Veda Sand shoes will be the perfect match. I can’t wait for spring!
