She only had to use the cone for a few days when unsupervised but it was torture for her. When she would smell the grass before relieving herself, the cone would get stuck in the dirt. When she would walk around the house, she&#8217;d run into doorways and chairs. We had to push the divider in her crate back so she could sleep &#8216;comfortably&#8217;. She wasn&#8217;t able to hold any of her toys to play with them and would struggle to drink. It was kind of sad but funny at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a couple of photos of her right after we picked her up. You can tell she&#8217;s still a little drugged from the anesthesia.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12288\" title=\"specklesspay2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/specklesspay2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12289\" title=\"specklesspay3\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/specklesspay3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Oh well, it was all for a good cause. The rescue we got her from (<a title=\"Big Dawgs Rescue\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bigdawgsrescue.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Big Dawz Rescue<\/a>) covered all the costs except for the cone and the vet at Alisal Pet Clinic did a fabulous job. The wound never seemed to bother her, even after we finished her pain pills and anti-inflammatory meds. In another week or two she should be 100%!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12290\" title=\"specklesspay4\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/specklesspay4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"560\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The &#8216;Cone of Shame&#8217; . . .
