Tickets for famous performances such as the resident Cirque du Soliel shows, Phantom of the Opera, and many others can really add up and are not necessarily geared for very young audiences. MGM has a whole amusement park but that may not be up everyone&#8217;s alley. So what can you do?<\/p>\n<p>Walk and look around. Don&#8217;t underestimate this, though, as there is plenty to see. One of my favorite attractions is the one found in front of the Bellagio. The choreography between the dancing fountains and the music was superb and quite entertaining.<\/p>\n<p><object width=\"640\" height=\"360\" classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/g_DZF2zrW1I?version=3&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0\" \/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><embed width=\"640\" height=\"360\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/g_DZF2zrW1I?version=3&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0\" allowFullScreen=\"true\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" \/><\/object><br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nMy daughter preferred the lights and sounds of the volcano eruption at the Mirage. It looked so different before and during the show &#8211; it was exciting!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16923\" title=\"lasvegas01\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/lasvegas01.jpg\" alt=\"Volcano show at Mirage in Las Vegas Nevada\" width=\"305\" height=\"229\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16924\" title=\"lasvegas02\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/lasvegas02.jpg\" alt=\"Volcano show at Mirage in Las Vegas Nevada\" width=\"305\" height=\"229\" \/><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: xx-small;\">(NOTE: Many of these pictures were borrowed from my father-in-law.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We did not watch the pirate show near Treasure Island as others had told us the newest version was more sensual and quite different than the fun-loving squash bucklers of the previous show. Walking around the Venetian was difficult as it had been many years since I last saw Phantom of the Opera on stage but it was not on this trip&#8217;s agenda. Still, this was a fantastic spot to rest our tired feet, get a bite to eat, and see tourists riding on the gondolas below.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16925\" title=\"lasvegas03\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/lasvegas03.jpg\" alt=\"Venetian in Las Vegas Nevada\" width=\"210\" height=\"300\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16926\" title=\"lasvegas04\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/lasvegas04.jpg\" alt=\"Gondola ride in Venetian in Las Vegas Nevada\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For the walking part, be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring a stroller even if your kid&#8217;s legs are hanging off. Just walking the length of one hotel can be tiring let alone several of them. Before we headed back to the car, we paid a visit to the The Forum shopping center at Caesar&#8217;s Palace. There is a fountain where the &#8216;statues&#8217; come alive but we didn&#8217;t get a chance to watch it as our timing was off.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16927\" title=\"lasvegas05\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/lasvegas05.jpg\" alt=\"Caesar's Palace Shopping in Las Vegas Nevada\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16928\" title=\"lasvegas06\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/lasvegas06.jpg\" alt=\"Caesar's Palace Shopping in Las Vegas Nevada\" width=\"210\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We were only in Las Vegas overnight so what we could do and see in that time was very limited. Still, we had a nice preview of the main tourist area and the rest can be discovered and enjoyed on a future visit. One note, there are several people passing out fliers for X-rated shows and many of these cover the ground with graphic pictures.
