Walgreens Is Going Digital! #NewWAGcirc

It’s been a long time since I looked through a Walgreens weekly ad. Not only were they a bit confusing but they just looked so stinkin’ old. Finally Walgreens is changing the format of their advertisements and I like it! I had a chance to preview the new Walgreens online circular for deals starting 2/12 (you can too by clicking the link) and was very impressed. This is a welcome change as I recently decided that I would be more diligent in shopping smart since my last grocery bill ended up being over $200!

The first thing I noticed was the clean, modern look which made it so easy to scan the ad.

"New"New

The ad loads very quickly and flipping through the pages is almost instantaneous. I was able to find several deals which I could use right away. By the time I got to page 3, I came across all their Bonus Buys. We often get the Simply Lemonade for my daughter and $1.99 per bottle is a great deal – I’ll have to put it on my list! The way the specials are organized is great and I love the fact that the coupons are grouped by category, making it simple to clip and sort.

One feature that is really helpful is the ‘View by Category’ drop-down menu. Deals are sorted by category then sub-category making it more convenient when preparing the grocery list. Plus, if I’m only looking for certain items, this helps me to streamline my shopping plan.

"New"New

Clicking on an item reveals another new feature. Now you can share these great deals with family and friends via email, text, Facebook, or Twitter. The ‘details’ box clearly states what specific items are included in the sale, helping to avoid any misunderstandings at the checkout counter. We actually need to pick up both the Neosporin To Go Spray and the Ointment so this deal works out great for us and is perfect timing. I only wish that clicking the item would bring you straight to the online item page. Our local Walgreens is a bit “shady” so I would much rather shop online. Plus, I noticed that any order over $25 qualifies for free shipping and, with these specials, meeting that minimum will be easy-peasy.
