Land O Lakes Butter w/ Canola Oil + Dr. Oz Influences My Husband…

"Dr.I tell you, I’m about to ban my husband from watching Dr. Oz! Whenever he happens to catch a show, it’s as if our family is in for a huge overhaul or examination of some sort. In my opinion, Dr. Oz is the ‘Oprah’ of the medical world but more guy-friendly. Read on to see what that has to do with Land O Lakes butter…

For example, about 1-2 weeks ago, Dr. Oz was talking about how any hydrogenated products in food is basically solidified trans fat. If it’s less than 2%, the FDA does not require that it be listed on packages but even 1% is bad since our bodies can’t really process it. WELL, minutes after the show, my husband was rummaging through our cabinets and refrigerator.

He was searching high and low to find what products we have that might have hydrogenated ingredients. The lemon-ginger cookies we bought? Failed. Saltine crackers? Failed. As Frans continued to approve and reject our food, he came across the tub of Land O Lakes Butter with Canola Oil I had earlier received to review. All of a sudden I heard, “What?! This only has three ingredients!”

Yep, only three simple ingredients – sweet cream, canola oil, and salt. As for the spreading and taste test, I decided to put it on some bread with ‘hagelslag’ (Dutch chocolate sprinkles topping). Oh, man! This butter was so easy to spread right out of the fridge and it tasted like, well, butter. That’s a good thing! No more overpowering flavors or plastic feeling. Just pure, yummy butter.

I don’t generally use much butter since it usually has a ton of junk in it and it’s a pain to cut/spread. I’m all for quick and easy when it comes to food. Anything that can simplify meal preparation and lessen my time in the kitchen is ‘okay’ by me. With this and my handy dandy baggies/reusable containers at hand, I think my kitchen will be much more bearable.

Don’t worry, I won’t be the only one having all the fun. One of my readers, will win a“Kitchen Simplifiers” gift package that includes a multi-tier oven rack, Crate & Barrel combined cutting board and colander, multi-purpose spreaders, and a coupon for Land O Lakes Butter with Canola Oil.
