What makes the Moto X different than any other phone on the market right now is the ability to customize it and have it custom built for you. If you buy your phone in-store, you\u2019ll get a redemption code to create your phone at home. It\u2019s pretty stinkin\u2019 cool, even for those that might be\u00a0initially<\/span>\u00a0skeptical.<\/span><\/p>\n Using the intuitive Moto Maker, you can choose the front color, back color, accent color, welcome message, background, memory, color charger, and even add a signature. Other accessories like a matching case or headphones are also available to purchase at the same time. With the phones being assembled right here in the U.S. your Moto X can arrive at your doorstep in less than a week.<\/p>\n After a looooooong time, I finally decided on my options. Thank goodness for the option of saving your design to work on later. Well, I picked the colors pretty early on and just got stuck on the signature part. I couldn\u2019t figure out what I wanted mine to say so I ended up leaving it blank. I think it\u2019s so pretty and the welcome message that pops up (when I power it ‘on’) makes me smile every time.<\/p>\n Frans also had the chance to design a phone. At first he was hesistant and figured that he\u2019d just stick with black. However, after playing with the Moto Maker for a bit, it didn\u2019t take long for him to change his mind. He even came up with a signature within a few minutes. Guys and girls definitely shop differently . . . He\u2019s pretty proud using his phone and sometimes I catch him showing it off here and there \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n Munchkin got the black\/black one passed on to her. It was kind of funny how anxious she was to start working with it. Sadly, before we got a good case for her phone, she dropped it on the sidewalk and it cracked. Not good but a bit surprising it got damage that much from just one fall (we’ve dropped other phones and they only had minor scuffs).<\/p>\n The customization does not stop there though. Android has so many options that allow for further choices on app and widget placement, functions, and more. I\u2019ll share some of my favorite ones in another post.<\/p>\n For years, my family has been iOS-only but the Moto X was the catalyst to switch my whole family over to Android. There\u2019s definitely a learning curve but it we haven\u2019t looked back since!
