What is in the water?! It seems like tons of people we know are getting engaged/married this year. The last time we went to a wedding was about two years ago, and even then it was far and few between. 2014 has been a whole other story though. One friend was married in February, another in March, and yet another will be in September. Two more couples got engaged just recently so it’s only a matter of time before they announce their big days.

If we’re not looking for shower or wedding presents, then we’re trying to figure out anniversary gifts. One of my sisters will be celebrating her and her husband’s 25th wedding anniversary. They have oodles of things planned to make the whole year special. But where does that leave us? What are we supposed to get them when they have mostly everything they need?

We know what they’ll like – the Keurig Special Edition Brewing System (K60/65)!

"Keurig

They loved the drinks we brewed for them in our Keurig the last time they were over. But, they don’t yet have a machine of their own (at least I’m hoping not). As my sister is the only one who drinks coffee, a single-serve coffee brewer just makes sense for her. On the other hand, the English Breakfast tea K-cups we used for my brother-in-law really impressed him. So much so that he requested three refills!

Keurig Special Edition Brewing System Review

This Special Edition looks sleek, has a digital display, a timer, a removable drip tray, and allows you to adjust the temperature. We have a Keurig OfficePRO but I think this one looks much nicer on the kitchen counter than ours does. The light in the reservoir makes it so much easier to see the water level.

Keurig Special Edition Brewing System Comparison

Frans did a very exact (mostly) side-by-side comparison of coffee made with our heavy-duty office brewer and the Special Edition. The result?

Both tasted the same and even had the same temperature of 158°F. It did take a bit longer for the water to heat (only about 30-60 seconds longer) and we didn’t see any easy way to drain the water inside for cleaning. It’s also quieter and hardly splashes at all. Both are great choices but the Special Edition is less expensive and has features better suited to home use.

"Keurig

The Keurig Special Edition Brewing System retails for $149.99 and includes a K-cups sampler, water filter handle, and 1 charcoal filter. This would be a fantastic gift for any couple celebrating an upcoming milestone in their relationship.

Also, thanks to our generous sponsors, you can enter to win a Special Edition machine right here!
