It was all in honor of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.weday.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">WE Day California<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-47331\" alt=\"2014 WE Day California volunteer \/ charity celebration event with celebrities and motivational speakers #WEDay\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/we-day-02.jpg\" width=\"650\" height=\"403\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/we-day-02.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/we-day-02-292x181.jpg 292w, https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/we-day-02-585x363.jpg 585w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>2014 WE Day California Event<\/h3>\n<p>The first and only stop of the WE Day event tour in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.weday.com\/we-day-events\/we-day-cities\/california\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">California<\/a> happened to be in my area and, together with my family, I had the privilege of going there. Tickets to this event could not be bought, they could only be earned though hours of volunteer service. 16,000 students and educators\u00a0from across the state were attendance to see the all-star line-up:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>J. Kilimanjaro<\/li>\n<li><b>Hannah Alper<\/b>\u00a0(CallmeHannah.ca)\u00a0<b>\u2013\u00a0<\/b>11-year-old Me to We inspirational speaker, Free The Children ambassador, blogger and youth activist<\/li>\n<li><strong>Oakland Raiders<\/strong>\u00a0and S<strong>an Francisco 49ers<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What what is this all about?<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.weday.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">We Day<\/a> is part of a family of organizations, including Free The Children and Me to We, that has a shared goal: to empower a generation to shift the world from \u2018me\u2019 to \u2018we\u2019\u2014through how we act, how we give, the choices we make on what to buy and what to wear, the media we consume and the experiences with which we choose to engage.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h4>Takeaway From WE Day California<\/h4>\n<p>It was so great to experience the energy of all these young people working to the benefit of others. Speakers like Spencer West,\u00a0Clemantine Wamariya, and Selena Gomez delivered moving speeches but we couldn&#8217;t hear Orlando Bloom or Seth Rogan over all the teen screaming \ud83d\ude42 It would have been awesome if Selena Gomez actually performed though.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-47333\" alt=\"2014 WE Day California volunteer \/ charity celebration event with celebrities and motivational speakers #WEDay\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/we-day-01.jpg\" width=\"650\" height=\"575\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/we-day-01.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/we-day-01-292x258.jpg 292w, https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/we-day-01-585x518.jpg 585w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Overall, we didn&#8217;t really get much out of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.weday.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">WE Day California<\/a>. It seemed more like a series of commercials with some music sprinkled in between. The crowd was loving it though. I guess, for them, coming to the SF Bay Area, seeing some famous people, and being at an exclusive event, was really the icing on the cake for their charitable efforts throughout the year.
