Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie<\/a>\u00a0is one monster of a truck. As I drove along the freeway, other vehicles like the Ford F-150 and Toyota Tundra\u00a0looked like little baby trucks. We could see clear over them, as well as the larger full-size SUVs. In fact, the hood of the car was almost as tall as me at 5’3″. On top of that, it had a\u00a0Crew Cab offering gobs of leg room, head room, and wiggle room in the comfy rear\u00a0seats. The interior area was so wide that\u00a0it wouldn’t surprise me if three car seats could be set up back there. The back of the truck had long compartments on the side known as a\u00a0Rambox Cargo Management System. These are great or smaller items or tools. These had built-in locks that could be operated with the power locks or individually locked with a key. The bed itself was spacious, was coated or prevent skidding or scratches, had a diving partition that could be adjusted, and a heavy-duty cover. This was all pretty slick.<\/p>\n
Due to the dimensions of the 2500, it did take some getting used to when driving it. It was extremely tall, wide, and long. The ride, however, was smooth. There did seem to be a bit of lag when first accelerating but that in no way had anything to do with the power. This was a 6.7L Turbo Diesel V8 engine. Many cars run around 2L with only four cylinders so the sheer strength of this engine is crazy. It can tow up to 17,740 lbs and hold up to 2,910 lbs! I had no way to test that out but at least those specs can give you a better idea of what this truck is capable of.<\/p>\n
Dodge Ram 2500 –\u00a0Not Just For Work<\/h3>\n
Now to the luxury part. Leather trim, heated and ventilated front bucket seats, heated second row, projector headlamps, 8.4″ navigation, heated second-row seats, the list goes on and on. The middle console was extremely wide and deep for purses or bags that needed to be stored in it. This was seriously a truck that a family could be comfortable riding in. The rear backup camera was actually displayed in the rear view mirror, so that was also an adjustment to use.<\/p>\n

Impressive but Should Be\u00a0Used With Caution<\/h3>\n
Unfortunately, I don’t have more details to share or photos to post. Due to an *ahem* incident while driving\u00a0the Dodge Ram 2500, I only had it for a couple of days. Just a note, if you’ve never really driven trucks before this is not the one to start with. I found out the hard way that it’s not a good idea to take this in narrow alleys and try to maneuver it in tight parking spots. I’d only advise experienced truck drivers, aka those that have been driving trucks most of their lives in progressively larger vehicles, to get behind the wheel of this. I imagine this fitting in much better on wide rural roads than on cramped city streets.<\/p>\n
If you have the need for a large vehicle but want to have space to bring the family along, the 2014 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie 4×4<\/a> might be a nice compromise of power and features. Just be sure you can handle that kind of power as you could easily run over massive objects and it only feel like a speed bump.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Some jobs just cannot be done in a car or SUV.
