Of course you have! This mid-size sedan has been winning the hearts of many, impressed by the Ford Fusion gas mileage and low starting price. All opinions are my own.<\/small><\/p>\n<h3>2014 Ford Fusion Gas Mileage and Performance<\/h3>\n<p>With a modern style outside and room to spare on the inside, this really is a great vehicle. It provides a quiet, smooth ride and has plenty of hot features. Layout is clean and <a title=\"2014 Ford Escape \u2013 What Happens When a Truck Guy Has a Family\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/2014-ford-escape\/\">button controls<\/a> are set neatly and are easily accessible. Yay for the USB port in the console too!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-48475\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-ford-fusion-01.jpg\" alt=\"2014 Ford Fusion gas mileage, features, and performance review #cars #ford\" width=\"650\" height=\"565\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-ford-fusion-01.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-ford-fusion-01-292x254.jpg 292w, https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-ford-fusion-01-585x509.jpg 585w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We were driving to San Jose a lot due to events related to <a title=\"BlogHer \u201914 \u2013 It\u2019s That Time Again And I\u2019ll Be There!\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/blogher-14-announcement-sponsors\/\">BlogHer &#8217;14<\/a> and we had plenty of gas, averaging about 30 mpg. The 2014 Ford Fusion gas mileage was pretty impressive. Ooh, this car also featured a capless gas tank. I forgot to take a photo of it but this will prevent things like this happening:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/instagram.com\/p\/qhRGFQJ9D_\/embed\/\" width=\"612\" height=\"710\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>When the Fusion gets to about 65 mph, though, the steering wheel does seem to shake a bit and steering seems much more sensitive. I found that it made me a bit more nervous on the road. Below those speeds, it&#8217;s quite easy to adjust to driving. I wonder if it had anything to do with the tires or alignment&#8230;<\/p>\n<h3>Car Features Both Good and Not So Good<\/h3>\n<p>Many features come standard on the SE model such as the remote keyless entry and Hill Start Assist (so you don&#8217;t roll back on inclines), which starts at 23,935. The auto start-stop feature was great. The circled &#8220;A&#8221; told you when it was on, meaning that the engine would kind of go into standby mode when stopped. Stepping on the accelorator pedal would &#8220;wake&#8221; it up and the engine would go again, saving gas at red lights. You could also turn this off with the press of a button so it doesn&#8217;t get irritating when in traffic or different situations that don&#8217;t warrant the need of letting the engine stop periodically.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-48477\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-ford-fusion-02.jpg\" alt=\"2014 Ford Fusion gas mileage, features, and performance review #cars #ford\" width=\"650\" height=\"293\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-ford-fusion-02.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-ford-fusion-02-292x132.jpg 292w, https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-ford-fusion-02-585x264.jpg 585w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Seats are comfortable so you can just slide and get going. The dashboard display is clear to read and the navigation is simple to use. The lever to adjust telescoping steering wheel is kind of oddly placed since it&#8217;s way far back, close to the very end of the steering column, and tucked way in. Frans couldn&#8217;t even find it\u00a0until I\u00a0told\u00a0him where it was.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-48478\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-ford-fusion-03.jpg\" alt=\"2014 Ford Fusion gas mileage, features, and performance review #cars #ford\" width=\"650\" height=\"431\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-ford-fusion-03.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-ford-fusion-03-292x194.jpg 292w, https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-ford-fusion-03-585x388.jpg 585w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Legroom in second row is decent and, even with a person in the front with long legs, you can still get an average-sized adult behind. The seat belts in the back are kind of bulky and awkward. I found out that it&#8217;s because they are inflatable for safety reasons. However, on a regular day-to-day basis, they weren&#8217;t to comfortable. The leather seating also seemed to be wrinkling quite a bit and it worries me that tears could be imminent as the surface wears down more.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-48479\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-ford-fusion-04.jpg\" alt=\"2014 Ford Fusion gas mileage, features, and performance review - inflatable seat belt #cars #ford\" width=\"650\" height=\"352\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-ford-fusion-04.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-ford-fusion-04-292x158.jpg 292w, https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/2014-ford-fusion-04-585x317.jpg 585w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Meeting the Needs of the Family<\/h3>\n<p>The 2014 Ford Fusion is a really smart choice for a family sedan. It&#8217;s roomy, has nice features, and does pretty good at keeping your gas costs in check. Even better is the fact that it has tons and tons of trunk space. With the way the space is situation and almost nothing hanging down, that&#8217;s all usable room to stuff luggage and, well, &#8220;stuff&#8221; in.
