School is starting soon and with it will come new challenges. Especially as children reach the higher grades, academics become more challenging for both the kids and the parents that struggle to help them.<\/p>\n

When my daughter entered middle school, I thought that it would be easier since she would be able to do more on her own. Actually, the exact opposite<\/a> happened. She got easily distracted, would procrastinate, and had a required more one-on-one time to walk her through each step since she didn’t have the drive to figure it out herself. It’s been tough trying to meet her needs yet still survive through the school year without wearing each other down<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Munchkin will start 8th grade on Monday. We’ve already been preparing her the past few weeks by cutting down her free time and giving her more responsibility of how to use her time wisely. No more lazy homeschooling. I’ll have to keep on her to stay on schedule and grade everything. After this, she’ll be headed to high school and she’ll have to have mastered good study skills to handle the rigorous curriculum. I don’t want her to always be catching up from behind but to move ahead with ease and\u00a0numerous opportunities available to her.<\/p>\n

Getting Ahead with Sylvan Learning Study Skills Courses<\/h3>\n

Whew, would it be nice to have some help. I’m pretty excited to share with you the new Sylvan Study Skills courses. I realize how hard, stressful, and overwhelming it can be to get your child the education they need and, even more so, to do it alone.
