Dogs are WAY more than just pets. They’re family. That’s something I never really grasped\u00a0until we got Speckles. We’ve become accustomed to her bolting through the door to greet us when we get home, staring at us\u00a0while we eat like she’s never been fed in her life, and\u00a0tossing toys at us until we tug for it or throw it back. When she’s not here (maybe while out with another family member or being puppy-sat),\u00a0a quiet emptiness seems to fall upon our home.
