Official site

When I was about 19 years old, I bought my very first new car. My white 1998 Toyota Corolla was a fabulous sedan that saw me though so much. It’s also the car I taught Frans how to drive in and was the vehicle that brought our Munchkin home from the hospital. As you can imagine, I will always have a soft spot for the Corolla. I’m not sure if that bias is why the 2015 Toyota Corolla Sport seemed like such an easy fit but it just did.

2015 Toyota Corolla Sport Review

With funky chrome and black rims, a subtle spoiler, colored accent details inside, and a sunroof, the 2015 Toyota Corolla Sport is modern and fun. Several people asked me what model I was driving and they were all surprised to hear it was a Corolla.

2015 Toyota Corolla Sport Review – Performance & Features

Handling was good, as we turning radius. Sometimes I did feel the need for a bit more power but it’s easy enough to switch over to “Sport Mode” for that extra boost. As mentioned before, I was able to get a good idea of the car dimensions pretty quickly. Usually, I pull in kind of far from the curb and then back up to get closer. The last thing I want to do in these new cars is scratch up those tires and rims. With the Corolla, though, it was easy to pull in at just the right distance on the first try.

The navigation and middle controls are laid out very cleanly. No nonsense buttons means it’s easier to find everything. Some buttons and levers did look a bit dated. For example, the fuel tank cover and trunk release look about the same and are in the exact place as my Corolla from 17 years ago. Obviously, the heated seats and backup camera are part of the current technology integrated in this car but some features need an updated look. Look at that monochromatic dash display!

2015 Toyota Corolla Sport Review – Interior Space

Inside there’s plenty of space. A tall person will fit fine but won’t have too much wiggle room. Passengers in the back will be happy with the amount of leg room though. The trunk is deep enough to get a couple good-sized suitcases in.

2015 Toyota Corolla Sport Review – Ideal Economy & Functionality

After all this time, I’m tickled pink to be able to say that the 2015 Toyota Corolla is still a decent buy. This model retains the good points I enjoyed way back when and adds some new features to keep up with modern needs. I would like a little more personality in the interior design but, aside from that, it’s really not lacking anything for a reliable and comfortable commute or family sedan. Plus, with an attractive fuel economy, a reasonable price, and the jazzed up look of the Sport model, I’d get this in a heartbeat!
