While we were in Europe in a couple of months ago, the first question we asked wherever we went was, \u201cDo you have Wi-Fi?\u201d It\u2019s amazing how reliant we\u2019ve become on staying connected. From sharing photos to checking emails and from using Google Translate to order a meal to pulling up maps to get to the next destination, it all requires internet. With cellular data being so unpredictable as we traveled around, we constantly sought out open public Wi-Fi connections whether at a restaurant or a hotel. What we didn\u2019t realize was that fact that, every time we connected to such hotspots, we were putting our entire online security at risk. I am always careful about unchecking the \u201cremember my password\u201d box when on public Wi-Fi and making sure I log out of each session. But, in not using another layer of protection, I could have basically been hand-feeding hackers my passwords and access to anything authenticated with my Facebook account\u2026which is like everything!<\/p>\n
