The new short, called Piper, is a touching story of a baby sandpiper (type of bird) and her mother. I\u2019ve always been amused by these funny little birds by the beach and the Piper animated short is so stinkin\u2019 adorable!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Cn5l7HJaYuA?rel=0\" width=\"853\" height=\"480\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>Learning About the Piper Animated Short from Director\u00a0Alan Barillaro<\/h3>\n<p>On the last press event I attended, Alan Barillaro, Pixar Supervising Animator and now Piper Animated Short Director, shared some inside information on the story and animation process.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I\u2019ve always found sandpipers very entertaining, that bird that runs away from the shore. It always felt like a character to me in a story we haven\u2019t told, about a bird that\u2019s terrified of the water. \u2014 Alan Barillaro<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The concept of Piper began as a test project in creating new technology in the software development department.\u00a0<em>Finding Dory<\/em> Director, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/finding-dory-interview-w-andrew-stanton-lindsey-collins\/\">Andrew Stanton<\/a>, saw the potential and helped mentor Alan in turning this small test into a full animated short.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-55827\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/finding-dory-piper-short-02.jpg\" alt=\"Movies | Disney Pixar will be releasing another animated treat along with Finding Dory on June 17, 2016.
