Drawing! Some people love it, some hate it. Some are good at it, maybe even spectacular. While others are, uhm, not so good. For me, I love to draw and I’m not completely bad at it. I usually only draw for fun, but I have had a few classes in the past. My mom decided that I should try this drawing game called Disney Art Academy. She thought it would help teach me some advanced techniques, such as shading. So, she put me to work by making me play video games. Such hard woooork…

Playing Disney Art Academy

When the game starts, you join an art class consisting of two siblings (the classmates) and their uncle (the teacher). You will then begin a tutorial to draw either Minnie or Mickey. The teacher walks you through the steps. At the end of the lesson, you see your masterpiece. Then, one of the two siblings will show their artwork. It’s so bad that it’s funny! That’s to be expected since the purpose of showing their drawing is to show what not to do.

Pictures and Lessons

After the tutorial, you can choose expressions and portraits. As you slowly progress through the game, you will get another teacher and unlock more lessons, tools, and paintings to choose from in the free paint section. Altogether, there are over 80 Disney and Pixar pictures to draw and 40 different lessons! The lessons come in four skill levels.
