What do Clover and my family have in common? One, we’re all based in California and, two, I have their yogurt and ice cream in my refrigerator/freezer. We already drink milk from Clover Stornetta Farms as it has a smooth yet clean taste. We only buy select brands of milk and never get generic. Hey, what can I say? We’re pretty picky about our dairy since it can sometimes taste kind of funky. So, I was pretty excited when Clover contacted me to try their new organic Greek yogurt and craft ice cream. Who wants to turn down samples of those yummies?!

Dairy Products from Clover Stornetta Farms

Clover products are available in several stores. But, we went to our local Whole Foods to pick up our chosen flavors. For the yogurt, we chose blueberry (my favorite) and strawberry (what Munchkin and Frans like). There wasn’t too much of a selection in stock of the craft ice cream so we decided on vanilla and mint chip. After all, you can figure out the true quality of ice cream if they make a good vanilla and mint.

The yogurt contains only natural ingredients and is gluten-free. This is the kind that you mix the yogurt and fruit yourself. The texture is smooth, the taste is not too sweet, and there’s no bitter aftertaste. Since I’m cutting down on sugar, I like that the sugar content is fairly low (14 grams). During a recent trip, I had Clover Organic Greek Yogurt and granola for breakfast each morning and I was good to go. There’s just enough room in the container to add some toppings so I didn’t even need a separate bowl.

Taste testing ice cream is such a tough task. Not only do I have to figure out a way to make a delicious dessert with it, but then I have to eat it. Such a labor of love. 😉 As expected, Clover Craft Ice Cream is super creamy. It’s smooth and pairs well with everything. Or, you can eat it alone and savor the combination of natural ingredients.

Each craft ice cream contains only 7 ingredients. Both have organic milk, organic cream, organic sugar, organic egg yolks, and organic locust bean gum. For flavoring, the Vanilla has organic vanilla extract and organic ground vanilla beans. The Mint Chip has organic chocolate chips and organic peppermint oil. I was happy to see there was no food coloring in the mint and that the flavor was distinct but not overpowering. Both have such a fresh, clean taste, not like the plastic-y and artificial flavor of other ice cream brands I’ve tried. I know what we’ll be stocking in our freezer this summer! I do wish more flavors were available, though, including ones with caramel.
