Well, after my very <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/2013-mazda3-review\/\">first car for review<\/a> was dropped off, I sat dumb-founded in the parking lot. I had no idea how to turn the thing on!<\/p>\n<h3>Keyless Entry System and Remote Start with Key FOB<\/h3>\n<p>I had the car in park, pushed the button to start the engine, and nothing. The guys that dropped off the car were long gone and I was by myself. I started to sweat as I stressed about how I would move the car and the impression it would make if I called the car sponsor saying, &#8220;Uhm, how do I turn the car on?&#8221; A couple minutes later I figured it out and gave myself a firm face palm! Thank goodness no one else saw me. At least I hope no one else saw me . . .<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-57336\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/keyless02.jpg\" alt=\"Intro to Car Keyless Entry System + Remote Start w\/ Key FOB Tutorial #Cars\" width=\"650\" height=\"399\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/keyless02.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/keyless02-292x179.jpg 292w, https:\/\/www.cookiesandclogs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/keyless02-585x359.jpg 585w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you have not yet dealt with a car having a keyless entry system, here are a few pointer to demystify the feature:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Key fob must be within a couple of feet to operate<\/li>\n<li>Brake must be pushed down to start car (doh!)<\/li>\n<li>Press button on door handles to lock \/ unlock<\/li>\n<li>Press button driver-side door handle twice to unlock all doors (not universal)<\/li>\n<li>Press button on trunk to open<\/li>\n<li>Standard key is hidden inside remote for manual use in driver-side door<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I did worry that this system would make car jacking easier but my husband assured me that that wasn&#8217;t the case. Having a keyless entry system,\u00a0you can just walk right up to your car, get in, lock the doors, and take off. With a traditional lock, though, you&#8217;re like a sitting duck. You could be standing next your car for several minutes looking for the car keys in your bottomless purse or coin-filled pockets. Plus, the remote includes a panic button just in case of an emergency.<\/p>\n<p>A keyless entry system is super easy to get accustomed to and extremely convenient. Doing errands is soooo much easier when I don&#8217;t have to dig into my purse to find my keys every time, especially when my hands are full. This is definitely a feature you must try out. In fact, after doing so, you&#8217;ll likely dread having to drive a car with a regular old fashioned key afterwards.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some may wonder why this introduction on\u00a0keyless entry \u00a0and use of a key FOB is even necessary.
