Remember how I mentioned that these old eyes have a hard time with the smaller screen of the standard-size New Nintendo 3DS? Well, imagine how excited I was when a New Nintendo 3DS XL Galaxy Style system showed up on my doorstep! It’s so pretty! Plus, it features larger screens and the size feels so much better in adult-size hands. You can bet that I set that baby up right away! Of course, I made sure I added my Nintendo Network ID (NNID) info too.

Nintendo Network is Nintendo’s online service for 3DS and Wii U. Setting up a free account on your system, known as a Nintendo Network ID, gives access to games, demos, discounts, and more. The same ID allows you to use the same Nintendo eShop wallet on your 3DS and Wii U. You can even watch content from YouTube, Netflix, Hulu Plus (you need to have a paid subscription to watch the latter two) on the Nintendo 3DS. If you have additional 3DS units, you will have to create a new Nintendo Network ID on each.

If you received a New Nintendo 3DS recently, you’ll definitely want add in your Nintendo Network ID in ASAP. Not quite sure how to set one up? Here are simple but clear step-by-step instructions of how to do this. It looks like a lot but it’s basically just filling in the information and going to the next screen. If the 3DS is for a child, it’s best if the parent or legal guardian creates the Nintendo Network ID.

Once you have a Nintendo Network ID, you can connect that to your Nintendo account to become a My Nintendo member. Doing so will score you even more savings. Okay, did that confuse you a bit? Check out this page for more information about these accounts and a video tutorial to set up and link these.

Right now, Nintendo is having a special sale event. You can save on games such as Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer, YO-KAI WATCH, Disney Art Academy. My Nintendo members save an extra 10% off the listed prices. This event runs until January 25th at 8:59 a.m. PT (yeah, strange time). Make sure you grab the titles you want before the deal is over and then keep an eye out for the next promotion!

Whew! With all of that done, now it’s time to shift gears and just focus on having fun on the New Nintendo 3DS XL! Oh, and if you’re looking into picking up a new unit, check out the gorgeous New Nintendo 3DS XL Galaxy Style.

I received this item as part of my participation as a Nintendo Ambassador. All opinions are my own.

Remember how I mentioned that these old eyes have a hard time with the smaller screen of the standard-size New Nintendo…

[156
203,206,258

How to Set Up a Nintendo Network ID
