It is crazy expensive to live here in San Francisco Bay Area! Rents are through the roof and, if you have any hope of buying a home of your own, expect to pay top dollar for an old, run-down fixer-upper on a tiny lot in an iffy neighborhood. It’s no wonder that many families are heading inland to areas like Mountain House, CA to settle down and call it home. Mountain House, about five miles west of Tracy, is a new home community that continues to grow with multi-generational housing which varies in size and pricing. In fact, Frans and I attended a huge 2-day grand opening there a couple weekends ago. The event featured three new communities with ten new model homes in the Cordes Village and Hansen areas.

New Homes in Mountain House, CA — Cascada by Woodside Homes

The first neighborhood Frans and I toured was Cascada by Woodside Homes. We loved how these new homes in Mountain House were set up. The rooms were nicely appointed without feeling too complex or over-the-top. If we were looking to buy a house, we would probably choose one from among these floorplans. The master bedroom walk-in closets were impressive and proper laundry rooms could act as a great hideout for “me time” between loads. The optional studio or 1-bdrm in-law suites, located above the detached garage, were just the right size and included everything necessary for a relaxed work or living space. From the upper $500,000s.
