There is a plethora of children’s media available, both old and new. Choosing appropriate and enjoyable books, music, or videos can be overwhelming, especially for a new parent or grandparent.

Little One Books provides a central place to find age-appropriate media for your child(ren). Only hand-picked items are available from their store and an honest review of why that particular title was chosen is included. I really like the tone in which these reviews are written. It’s as if you have your own personal librarian that loves books and loves children. With this, you know that any item you choose will be both enjoyable and a great source of enrichment.

Not sure what I mean? Check out the page listing for Moo, Baa, La La La! by Sandra Boynton. In the section ‘why we chose this book’ the review was right on. We had the exact same experience with the fun animal sounds and the delightful pictures. This was an enjoyable read for us and our little one. Even now we will periodically repeat the last sentence that states, “It’s quiet now, what do you say?”

As for the products, it was like walking down memory lane. All of my daughter’s favorite books were listed! Here are a few of them:

Most of the items we used with our daughter were mostly based on trial-and-error. Once I got a book that looked like a cute little book about penguins. What I didn’t realize was that baby penguin had two dads and the book was targeted at explaining same-sex relationships. Not what I was had in mind for my three-year-old at that moment. I had to spent a lot of time researching site after site to get a better idea of what I should get. It would have been so fantastic to have this service when my daughter was younger (she’s nine years old now).

Items are divided into age groups for easy browsing from birth to five years of age. Aside from books, notable DVDs and music CDs are also among the offerings. I like their gift bundles which are a fantastic option if you have trouble deciding on the perfect present. So do your little ones a favor by giving them a great start and trusting Little One Books to help you choose the best of the best of children’s media.
