I have A LOT of rewards cards. Some I even keep at home because it would be way too much to carry around with me. As it is, it takes a few minutes to thumb through the cards I do have to find the one I’m actually looking for.

Isn’t that a sad excuse for a card holder? In fact, I just noticed that my handy-dandy snack size baggie has a rip in it. Granted, many stores allow you to enter your phone number to pull up your information. The only problem with that is if you’ve changed your number a couple of times and can’t remember which one you used to register your account.

I was so excited to try the MoBeam Nümi Key. Isn’t it cute?

The Nümi is very compact, small enough to hang on your keyring. All you need to do is use the included USB cable and plug it into your computer. You need to open Internet Explorer as that is the only browser that the Nümi is compatible with. That’s a bit cumbersome but I only needed to use it briefly.

Set up is almost non-existent which is definitely a plus. Just plug it in, select the store, and input your card number. I kind of wish I could just scan in the card but, who knows, maybe it’s easier said than done. If the store isn’t listed, you can add it manually then choose the image that looks like the barcode on your card. The information is stored right on the Nümi so every time you plug it into your computer, the browser automatically brings up your accounts to easily edit them.

Here’s the cool part. Go to the store and shoot the light beam into the scanner. I did this at Sears and kind of had the cashier worried that I was going to send a virus through the system. But with one try, it pulled up my rewards account with no problems at all. So ‘goodbye’ baggie and ‘hello’ Nümi!
