Backyard Science: New CuriOdyssey Exhibit, Opens 6/26

by TerriAnn

CuriOdyssey (in San Mateo, CA) is unveiling a new exhibit on Sunday, 6/26! The theme is ‘Backyard Science‘ and it seems really interesting.

Here’s an excerpt of the press release:

Backyard Science – Opens June 26, 2011
Can you make your eyes wider? Can you see the wind? What shape can water make? Scientific exploration doesn’t just take place in a lab or using chemistry sets; it happens all around us every day. Opening Sunday, June 26, 2011, CuriOdyssey’s Backyard Science exhibition empowers kids to move beyond the walls of a science lab to investigate scientific phenomena in their own backyard.

Backyard Science encourages families to explore, discover, and get their hands dirty by experimenting with scientific phenomena on CuriOdyssey’s grounds. Visitors can play music on ambient sound tubes, listen with giant ears, and experience what it’s like to have “superhuman” vision. Kids of all ages can investigate some of the surprising scientific phenomena found outdoors through these curiosity-inspiring, hands-on exhibits.

There will be a members-only preview and reception from 10:00am to 12:00pm. The will refreshments and FREE gifts. After that is open to the general public. Kind of makes you want to be member, huh?

I won’t be able to make it to the opening so let me know how it goes!
