Budsies Made-to-Order Stuffed Toys – Super Specks

While I (TerriAnn) usually write all the reviews, I had to pass this one to my daughter. Her honest (and comical) expressions regarding her new custom-made plush are really best said in her own words. I couldn’t have said it better myself. So, without further ado, this is what my almost 14-year-old daughter had to say about Budsies.

Budsies Made-to-Order Stuffed Toys

Best. Idea. Ever! You might be thinking right now, why in the world did I just say that? Well you see, there’s this company and they make your kids’ drawings into stuffed animals. Cool, right? But wait, don’t stop reading yet, there’s more!

This company is called Budsies and, like I said before, they make your children’s drawings into stuffed animals. Whether your kid makes a big giant scribble or a precise instructional drawing, they somehow make it into a stuffy and make it even better than the drawing.

Bringing Super Specks to Life

I got to try it out and it was fantastic. I drew a super hero that I imagined named Super Specks (it’s based off of our family dog, Speckles). I made a whole bunch of precise instructions on how to make it. For example, it HAD to have a shiny SS on the cape and Super Specks’ fur had to be dark brown not black.

I had to wait sooooooo long to get it. IT WAS A MONTH LONG! But it was worth the wait. When I got it, I burst out laughing. Why? When I opened the package, it looked just like that drawing I made… except for one thing. It had no eyes!!! It was HILARIOUS! We later found out though that that it DID have eyes. It was on the mask (it was detachable)… False alarm.

Budsies – Worth the Cost?

Ok, I’m going tell you the price. Brace yourself. It’s 80-100 bucks, but let me say it’s totally worth it. Just think of it, they have to make a pattern and sew it and make it one-of-a-kind and make it just like the drawing but also make it better… Phew! That’s a lot. To think of it, it’s kinda cheap for all of that. If it were ME making those things, I would add an extra 0 to the amount they have! (Not kidding.)

There was only ONE bad thing about it. The mask has a hole in it (just a little one) but Mama can sew it back again, so no biggie. I’m very happy with my Budsies toy, and Mama says that the eyeball thing still cracks me up. I would recommend this and I think Mama would too.

All the stuff I wrote were my own ideas, so there. I’m not a salesperson or an advertiser, or whatever. Or am I? (Just kidding! 😛 )

So if Budsies can satisfy the scrutiny of a teen while making her laugh every time she looks at it, it will surely make anyone you gift one to just as happy. I’m amazed at the creativity of the designers to bring even the simplest of scribbles to life. It impresses me to no end. The quality is top notch as well.

If you’re looking for a gift that will warm the heart and bring smiles for years to come, I can’t think of a better idea than to order a Budsies custom plush toy.

I so love t his idea, since my daughter loves to draw I should have her draw something and send it in.

This is unbelievably cute, I think I may have to send in something my daughter has drawn, I bet she’d get a kick out of having a plushie made from one of her creations!

Those are adorable and I was going to have one made but it wouldn’t have made it in time by Christmas.

Aw, so cute! I love the idea and will share this with my niece for her daughter!

What this company does in incredibly ingenious! I might turn in one of my son’s drawings to have one made for his upcoming 9th birthday. It would be well worth the price for what they do!

My daughter won an art contest on Instagram where a doll maker turned her design into an actual doll. I was so excited for her, but shocked with the mediocre craftsmanship when the doll actually arrived. The doll itself was great, but the clothing had a simple running stitch holding it all together and fell apart instantly. I would love to do a Budsie for her to make up for the doll disaster.

I would say it’s a win if you can get a teen to say nice things!

That is so cute, I first thought where are its eyes, but then I see them on the mask.

Oh my gosh! This is so cute. I love that the kids make their own animal!

This is such an amazing concept for all ages. I know my kids would have a blast with this and I have adult friends that would love to bring a character or doodle to life too!

I am currently in my 15th week of waiting for the Budsie that I ordered for my granddaughter. She is quite sad and disappointed. I tend to believe that Budsies has bit off more than they can chew.

Oh dear, that’s not good. I really, really hope that you didn’t order it for a special occasion that has already passed!
